ViaSat Completes Satellite Network for ELIOP for Istanbul Drinking and Waste Water Management : LinkStarS2 provides efficient data transfer for moni

CARLSBAD, Calif. (Business Wire EON) July 21, 2008 -- "This ISKI network is mission critical in the monitoring and control of the quality and distribution of drinking water to one of the most populous cities in the world," said Guillermo Bosch, director of sales in Europe for ViaSat Commercial Satellite Networks. "We have a long-standing business relationship with ELIOP, the ISKI local representative for business and support in Turkey, and our LinkStar system has proven to be very efficient for this SCADA application."

The DVB-S2 waveform integrated into the LinkStarS2 offers up to 30% greater bandwidth efficiency compared to the previous generation DVB-S standard, substantially reducing network operating costs or increasing network capacity. ViaSat hub-based LinkStar S2 and mesh architecture LinkWay®S2 VSAT systems are interoperable as well, enabling powerful and flexible hybrid star/mesh network configurations.
