ViaSat Supplying Kongsberg Satellite Services with 7.3m Antennas to Be Installed in Svalbard

DULUTH, Ga. (BusinessWire EON) March 28, 2007 --     A variety of customers use the services of KSAT. With its location in the very far northern latitudes, it has one of the greatest frequencies of overhead passes of polar orbiting satellites, providing it with greater data download opportunities. Satellite imagery customers use the images for crop management, fisheries, marine surveillance, town management, and other applications. Other satellite operators use KSAT TT&C capabilities to monitor and control their satellites. ViaSat had previously installed a 7.3 meter X-band receive and S-band TT&C antenna system at the KSAT TrollSat site in Antarctica.
