Pixel Corps, TWiT.tv and Podango Productions Team Up to Present Gear Media Tech
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 2, 2007 -- Pixel Corps, TWiT.tv and Podango Productions today announced Gear Media Tech (GMT), a three-day seminar dedicated to showing online producers the real nuts and bolts behind media production, including audio and video for the Web and mobile devices. Lead by industry veterans Leo Laporte (This Week in Technology, Tech TV), Scott Borne (Podango Productions, NetRadio) and Alex Lindsay (Pixel Corps, MacBreak), GMT is scheduled to take place 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 28-30, 2007 at the Zeum Theater in San Francisco.
Over the course of three days, the GMT seminar will cover nearly every aspect of media production, from design to upload, and will provide attendees with real-world production tips and insight at all levels that will make a difference in everyday production.
"It's really a boot camp for those interested in producing media for the Web, phone or other mobile devices," explains Pixel Corps founder Alex Lindsay. "We've learned a few tricks about producing content over the years; hopefully we can save people a little time and pain as they get started."
The Pixel Corps has been producing online shows for over the past five years and are currently producing over 10 shows including Macbreak, Macbreak Weekly, This Week in Media, The VFX Show and Inside the Black Box.
"A lot of us have pockets of experience," says Scott Bourne, founder of NetRadio and currently director of production for Podango Productions. "The goal of this seminar is to fill in the gaps for producers and production artists so that they can take advantage of the opportunities that are opening up right now."
"We're all still learning and the industry is still finding itself," explains industry guru Leo Laporte, "Gear Media Tech is about providing what we've learned up to this point as a basis for others to hit the ground running."
Leo Laporte, Alex Lindsay and Scott Bourne all have histories as radio on-air personalities. Laporte is currently a TV host of TechTV/G4 Canada's "Call for Help" and is the ‘Head TWiT’ for This Week in Technology, one of the largest netcasts on the Web. Lindsay worked first in radio, then in TV, and finally as a computer artist for "Star Wars: Episode 1" before founding dvGarage and the Pixel Corps. Bourne founded NetRadio in the mid-1990s which grew to a USD $100 Market Cap and is considered a pre-cursor to the technology revolution we see today.
GMT is sponsored by Podango Productions and BSW USA.
